Ryan Langston, 28, is a graphic animator for Cinetopia theaters, so creating a realistic movie trailer – which played at the theater before Beauty and the Beast – was definitely within his realm of expertise.
Langston told the Huffington Post he’d managed to get his girlfriend, 26-year-old Adrianna Neil, to believe they were going to see the Disney film as an early birthday present.
“We both love movies or anything that brings an emotional experience, and I wanted to propose in a way that would be memorable,” Langston said. “I knew that I wanted it to be something really special for her.”
A loved one filmed her reaction from her phone – presumably placed incognito-like in the movie theater cup holder – to capture Neil’s reaction.
It’s clear from the video that Neil was thrilled (and understandably emotional) at the meticulously-planned proposal.

“The staff was amazing at helping me pull this off,” he said. “They ran the test of the trailer several times that day during intermissions just to make sure it would run without a hitch.”
Congratulations to the happy couple!
