10 Foods That Can Help You Attract New Love (And Heal A Broken Heart)

When I was getting my certification as a raw nutritionist, I had been focusing on an old love, which was blocking the way for new love to enter into my life.

It was during this training that I first came across the idea that you could eat to attract or repel specific things in your life. This was not a foreign concept to me. I practice reiki healing, and have always believed in the body-mind connection. But I had never applied the Law of Attraction to food.

So, I tried something new to get over my broken heart. And, as I began to nurture myself with fresh nutrients and heart-healthy foods, my emotional “body” began to evolve along with my physical body, helping me reach a happier place.

It’s hard to say what really shaped my new outlook. Maybe I was finally able to open up to new love because I had been taking better care of my body. Or maybe the boost in nutrients was driving all of this clear and refreshed thinking. I like to think it was the combination. But once you’ve tried it, you can come to your own conclusion.

Here are the top 10 foods I suggest for healing your broken heart.

1. Sprouts And Sprout Juices

Sprouts and sprout juices are rich in potassium, and will work to heal your heart. Giving your body an extra boost of this essential nutrient will help your heart run more smoothly and efficiently.

2. Leafy Greens

Leafy greens are rich in magnesium and chlorophyll. Your heart and your brain both need magnesium to operate in unison. The leafy greens will help restore essential nutrients and minerals to your bloodstream, and will also help reduce blood pressure, physical stress, muscle spasms, and mental conditions such as depression and anxiety.

3. Fresh Fruit

Reach for fruits such as bananas, avocados, kiwis, pomegranates, cherries — you name it! Almost all fruits are rich in potassium. Whatever you do, don’t cook these fruits! It know, it’s tempting to reach for a blueberry pie and call that a fruit serving, but the truth is when you cook fruit, it changes their nutrient profile.

4. Fresh Vegetables

As you connect with living, or uncooked, foods, your body begins to retain more energy. Think of raw food as clean fuel for your body. No, you don’t have to shift into a completely raw diet, but you should aim to include more and more raw vegetables in your meals to give your heart and body an energetic boost.

5. Raw Cacao

The ancients in Mexico called cacao “heart blood” because it helps keep the coronary artery clear and regulates cardiovascular activity. Ancient myths also state that eating raw cacao will work to dissolve conflict between your head and your heart.

6. Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper is great for detoxifying your body, reducing blood pressure, breaking up blood clots, and flooding your body with a stream of anti-bacterial agents. If you’re detoxing from a long-gone love, this food will be your favorite. It’s ability to deeply detox your system while simultaneously jumpstarting your metabolic functions will leave you feeling more chipper in no time.

7. Garlic

Don’t worry about stinky garlic breath — keep adding it to your food! Garlic is a sulphur-rich food that helps decalcify your body. Sulphur-rich foods physically stop your heart from closing. So, if you’re feeling the heartache, add a little more garlic to your sauce. Yes, you may stink, but it won’t last for long.

8. Ginger

Ginger is another great source of sulphur, and will also help dissolve any excess calcium in your body. The result? You’ll feel like you just got an energetic breath of fresh air.

9. Onions

Onions are sulphur-rich option number three. Consuming onions will help regulate your blood sugar, reduce inflammation, and will also work to clear out clogs in your heart or bloodstream. Onions are also packed with serotonin and dopamine — both of which translate into a happier mood and a brain boost.

10. Radishes

Radishes not only help your heart, but they’re great for glowy skin and fat-burning. This root is packed with nutrients, and is simultaneously light in calories. It’s the perfect swap for someone who doesn’t like garlic or onions, and a perfect addition to any detoxification plan.

Heartbreak is hard, but you can make it easier to get over your emotional hurts by preparing your body to open up energetically to the frequency of love.
