Call us girls, old fashioned, but, even though we can appreciate aspects of feminism, we would rather prefer gender roles as is. We like when a guy volunteers to kill a massive spider without complaint, or holds the door like a charm. We find chivalry to be a gorgeous thing. We love our independence in love and life, but we want men to treat us like ladies. Gentlemanly behavior sets our hearts aflutter. Want to know more about that behavior, we've compiled a list of 5 habits that make us swoon.
Defend us, always
Part of being chivalrous means communicating to your girl that you can protect her, stand up for her and her interests. Now, this does not mean that you've to punch strangers in the streets. It means to take her side in arguments, even if you don't always agree with her. Treat her with respect in public and demonstrate to others, through your confidence and demeanor, how you expect her to be treated. Rest assured, she'll only be yours!
Be attentive
Chivalry means paying attention to details. It means holding your girl's hand, helping her in the car, opening the doors, pulling out the chair and doing all things that a chivalrous guy does. Make your girl feel that she is special in every way possible, even if that includes giving away your jacket when it's cold (yes, for the love of Bollywood). These small little habits will stay by her and give her the confidence that you're the only one!
Stick to your word
Women depend on the reliable. And, if you do not posses that trait, then you're off the list that very moment. If you told her you'll call her at 4.30, call her at 4.30, come what may. Don't keep her waiting as that's downright infuriating. Women want guys to stand up to their promises. It' not just about the phone calls. It's about promising and living up to those promises. Practice and you'll be a keeper!
Show it through romantic gestures
Most women don't want all-out PDA. That makes them as uncomfortable and queasy as men. What women do love, however, is a guy who will grab her girl's hand on the street or give her a quick peck on the cheek. It's adorable. We love that he loves being with us, and we think it's rather amazing that he wants others to know, too.
Practice good manners
Yes, the last but not the least in the list is practicing good manners. Chivalry is all about treating others with respect, especially women. Think about it, when a guys chews his food loudly or eats with his mouth open or do not apologize or say 'thank you', it only means that he cares about no one but himself. Its plain disrespectful and girls don't do disrespectful. You need to be polite to others to make her believe that you'll be polite to her, too!
